J.K. Simson Piccolo Banjo

This is an J.K. Simson Fretless Piccolo Banjo circa 1900 built in London. The rim is lightweight construction, and the neck is walnut with ebony and contrasting layers. Original hardware.

The scale, based on the pearl position markers on the side of the neck, is around 14.5 inches, or slightly less than S.S. Stewart's Piccolo banjo.

This is a lovely playing and sounding little banjo, with a rim less than seven inches, sporting twenty "L" shoes, and a 10.5 inch neck and a very distintive headstock shape!
